Job Description

Mental Health Therapist Caring Mind Counseling is committed to serving the High Country and surrounding areas of NC. This is an in person position with the option for some remote work. You are required to have a license in NC to practice outpatient mental health psychotherapy. Starts part-time, with the option to grow into full-time with benefits as your caseload increases. We strive to offer a variety of counseling services including a variety of experiential approaches. Caring Mind Counseling is starting to grow and we are excited to expand our 3 counselor team.
Job Responsibilities:
Establish positive, trusting rapport with patients. Diagnose and treat mental health disorders. Create individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances. Meet with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress. Involve and advise family members when appropriate. Refer patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary. Maintain thorough records of patient meetings and progress. Follow all safety protocols and maintain client confidentiality. Contribute to the practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Some light cleaning of your office space. Work Hours & Benefits This is a W2 position with hourly pay for both clinical and non-clinical work. We offer flexible scheduling. Once your caseload reaches full-time capacity, we may be able to offer benefits such as paid time off, supervision compensation, a CEU stipend, and health insurance. Please note that credentialing with insurance panels and building your caseload takes time. We encourage you to apply if you are available to begin within the next 1-3 months.

Clinical Focus:
The primary focus will be on young adults , especially college students , as this is a high-need area within our practice. We are particularly seeking clinicians with trauma-focused specialties beyond CBT-based approaches such as EMDR trained/in training, brain spotting, or other experiential approaches.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field Current with all state licensing requirements, including LCMHC, LCSW and LMFT (restricted/associate license are acceptable) No reprimands on your licensure
Start Date & Interviews:
Interviews begin: July Expected start: Early September-October depending on insurance credentialing.
