Overview of Responsibilities:
Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to develop individualized treatment plans. Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and behavioral therapy. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management techniques and de-escalation strategies to ensure patient safety. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, case management, and discharge planning while maintaining accurate medical documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations. Engage in clinical research activities when applicable, contributing to data collection efforts that support ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Skills and Competencies Proven experience in psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention within inpatient or outpatient settings. Strong background in adults and adolescents, and family counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Expertise in behavioral health modalities such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), addiction counseling, grief counseling, psychopharmacology, and gender issues counseling. Familiarity with hospital experience, medical documentation standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and HIPAA compliance. Excellent skills in patient assessment, case management, social work principles, and clinical counseling techniques. Ability to handle complex cases involving PTSD care, chronic pain counseling, geriatrics, and special education needs. Strong communication skills for intake procedures and collaboration with medical professionals; experience with research or data collection is a plus. If hired, you must be available to attend the Full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
Experience :
Prefer a minimum of one-three (1-3) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills.
License:
Must possess a state licensure: LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LMSW or LCSW.
Additional Requirements:
CPR and CPI training must be completed prior to beginning work. Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
