Job Description

Helen Ross McNabb Center seeks a Sevier County School Based Mental Health Liaison to provide direct behavioral health services to students and families in local schools. In this role, you will conduct mental health assessments, deliver individual and family counseling, and respond to crises impacting student safety and well-being. You will collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and community partners to coordinate care, link families to resources, and support individualized treatment plans. This position offers strong clinical training, interdisciplinary teamwork, and the opportunity to impact vulnerable youth across East Tennessee. Responsibilities Provide school-based mental health assessments and ongoing counseling to students and families Respond to mental health crises and coordinate safety planning with school staff and families Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student behavioral and emotional needs Coordinate referrals to community resources and internal Mc Nabb Center services Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, trainings, and case consultations Engage families and caregivers to support student progress and treatment goals Required Skills Clinical assessment Crisis intervention Individual counseling Family counseling Care coordination Treatment planning Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Case management Knowledge of community resources Risk assessment and safety planning
