DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide professional counseling to clients in order to facilitate human development and adjustment throughout the lifespan; prevent, assess, evaluate, and treat mental or emotional or behavioral disorders and associated distresses that interfere with mental health; conduct assessments and evaluations to establish treatment goals and objectives; plan, implement and evaluate treatment plans using counseling treatment interventions that include counseling, assessment, consulting, referral; promote counseling services to the community at large.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assessment of client's counseling needs. 2. Establishment of client's treatment goals and objectives. 3. Development of client's treatment plans. 4. Counseling interventions directed towards facilitating the client's meeting of counseling goals. 5. Documentation of client's assessment and progress. 6. Referral of client to other sources of assistance as needed (i.e. Medicaid, CHIPS). 7. Adhere to established mental health counseling protocols. 8. Compliance with patient scheduling as directed by administration. 9. Compliance with current Medicare regulations in regards to patient charting and documentation. 10. Ensure that the client's information is maintained in confidence, secure and intact. 11. Work as a team with clinic doctors, nurses, etc. to maintain comprehensive care of clients. 12. Maintain monthly report of services performed. 13. Maintain State Licensure and annual Continuing Education Units. 14. Seek to inform the community at large about counseling services through public speaking, 15. Maintain the confidentiality, security, and physical safety of the patient medical|financial record. 16. Maintain positive and professional attitude toward other employees and staff. 17. Adheres to current Human Resources policies as established by the organization. 18. Recognize own role in marketing of clinic services by developing positive relations with the public in general. 19. Participates in the health center's performance improvement activities and performs duties in accordance with applicable standards. 20. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health or the Executive Director. 1. Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LMSW-ACP, LPC, PH.D. Psychologist) with at least 2 years of experience in a Mental Health setting. 2. Thorough knowledge of medical record requirements; including familiarity with Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. 3. Ability to establish rapport and relate to clients, families, community agencies and groups, and variety of service discipline. 4. Familiarity with research based Psychotherapeutic Interventions.
