Job Description

Make a Difference Where It Matters Most Join a dedicated team of behavioral health professionals as a Mental Health Clinician with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Managed Care at the James Allred Correctional Unit, located in Wichita Falls, Texas. This is a unique opportunity for clinicians who are confident, resilient, and motivated to make a meaningful impact with an underserved population. Whether you're an experienced professional or a newer clinician eager to grow, you'll be supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team while developing expertise in crisis intervention, outpatient mental health, trauma-informed care, and complex diagnostic presentations. In this role, you'll provide individual counseling, mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and case management services to a diverse patient population with a wide range of diagnoses. Working closely with fellow clinicians, psychiatric providers, medical staff, and security personnel, you'll play a key role in promoting stability, rehabilitation, and long-term wellness. Success in this environment comes from being able to maintain professional boundaries, work effectively as part of a team, accept feedback, and approach challenges with confidence and professionalism. Why Choose This Role Focus on Patient Care - No insurance authorizations, no on-call responsibilities, and no need to build or schedule your own caseload. Collaborative Team Environment - Work alongside experienced clinicians, psychiatric APPs, and psychiatrists who value teamwork, consultation, and professional development. Diverse Clinical Experience - Gain exposure to crisis intervention, outpatient mental health, trauma-informed care, and a full spectrum of mental health diagnoses. Comprehensive Onboarding - Receive hands-on training, shadowing opportunities, policy education, and gradual caseload development to ensure your success. If you're looking for a rewarding clinical role where your work has a direct impact every day—and where you'll be supported by a strong team that values growth, collaboration, and quality care—this is an opportunity worth exploring.
