Required:

Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Bachelor's degree in a mental health or a related field. Virginia Qualified Mental Health Professional - (QMHP) certification, or registration as a Virginia Qualified Mental Health Professional - Trainee. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities and crises effectively. Work is primarily conducted in an office setting, but will include engaging with individuals in their homes or other service locations from time to time.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Same Day Access (SDA) Community Engagement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive case management services to adults and children experiencing serious mental illness (SMI) and/or substance use disorders. This role will primarily focus on ensuring that individuals receive, appropriate services in a timely and effective manner. As a key member of the team, the candidate will engage directly with individuals, assess needs, develop treatment plans, and coordinate timely services to support recovery and enhance overall well-being.

Preferred:

Experience with same-day access programs or triage services. Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to mental health and substance use services. Strong understanding of mental health and substance use treatment methodologies, crisis intervention, and case management practices. Experience working with high-risk populations and individuals with complex behavioral health needs. Knowledge of community resources and local agencies that provide support to individuals with mental health and substance use needs. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
