INTRODUCTION
The David C. Wynecoop Memorial Health Center is seeking a mental health clinical counselor to join the Behavioral Health department. This position reports to the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor. The position provides outpatient counseling to individuals residing on or around the Spokane Indian Reservation. They will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and counseling to individuals experiencing mental health and co-occurring behavioral health conditions.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain client caseload and develop service plans per
DSM-5-TR
criteria. Manage documentation and case notes completion no later than 72 hours of session. Provide individual, couples, or family therapy, and/or group sessions. Utilize therapeutic modalities that are evidence-based that include: o Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) o Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) o Motivational Interviewing (MI) o Solution-Focused Therapy o Trauma-Focused Interventions o Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) o Other clinically appropriate evidence-based practices Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, mental health evaluations and risk assessments. Collaborate with medical and BH clinical team to ensure appropriate treatment plans, therapeutic practices, and wraparound services. Attend weekly clinical staff meetings and supervisory meetings. Maintain and update understanding policy and procedure of Behavioral Health department. Facilitate referrals to higher levels of care and community resources.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledge of mental health diagnosis and symptoms as defined in the
DSM-5-TR.
Integrate culturally grounded healing practices and traditional wellness approaches when appropriate. Coordinate treatment planning and monthly plan reviews with clients. Follow HIPPA law and regulations as it relates to client and patient confidentiality. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
LICSW, LMFT, or LMHC licensed in the state of Washington. Understand what it means to be client-centered. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES
Experience working with Tribal/Indigenous communities in rural areas. In accordance with the requirements of the Health Center Manual, employee of this position, as a condition of employment, must document immunity to Rubella & Measles. Influenza vaccine is recommended for all health workers in contact with patients. The employee must be suitable for Tribal employment in your position as determined by fingerprint check results and appropriate background investigation. An incumbent found not suitable after hire will be removed from this position. The employee is required to operate a tribal-owned or leased motor vehicle, commercial motor vehicle, rental motor vehicle or privately owned motor vehicle in the performance of official duties. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
