Job Description
PSIMED Corrections, LLC, a leading behavioral health provider, is seeking a full-time Therapist to provide behavioral health services for a diverse caseload of clients onsite at the Southern Regional Jail. Job Requirements Provide direct clinical and consultation services. Collaborate and work effectively with other Mental Health Services staff, WVDCR personnel, clients and outside support agencies. Provide individual and/or group services to clients. Provide crisis intervention services to clients. Provide documentation in the EMR of clients' treatment. Education Requires a Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or a related behavioral science field from an accredited college or university OR completing final semester at an accredited educational institution obtaining a Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or a related behavioral science field. License Must hold a current license or be license eligible with the respective licensing board. Experience Must have professional experience or working knowledge which indicates understanding of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of major mental disorders. Previous mental health and corrections experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with others. Ability to deal calmly and appropriately with stressful situations. Maintain professionalism with clients and teammates. Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in accordance with PSIMED Corrections and WVDCR policies, procedures and practices. Proficient computer skills including
