Job Description
PSIMED Corrections, LLC, a leading behavioral health provider, is seeking a full-time Psychological Assistant to provide supportive clinical services for a diverse caseload of behavioral health clients at the Mount Olive Correctional Complex. Job Requirements Provide supportive clinical services. Communicate and work effectively with other Mental Health Services staff, WVDCR personnel, clients and outside support agencies. Conduct intake screenings and appraisals as part of the mental health intake classification process. Assist the psychologist with gathering appropriate documentation and testing for the provision of psychological evaluations. Schedule, facilitate and conduct psychiatric mental health clinics. Provide psycho-educational group therapy to clients. Provide documentation in the EMR of client's treatment. Education Requires a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice or a related behavioral science field from an accredited college or university OR completing final semester at an accredited college or university obtaining a Bachelor's in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice or a related behavioral science field. License Requires a current license or be license eligible with temporary or supervision status with the respective licensing board. Experience Must have professional experience or working knowledge of mental health intake process, psychiatric clinic triage and working knowledge of treatment for major mental disorders. Previous mental health and corrections experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with others. Ability to deal calmly and appropriately with stressful situations. Maintain professionalism with clients and teammates. Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in accordance with PSIMED Corrections and WVDCR policies, procedures and practices. Proficient computer skills including
