Our mission is to provide quality behavioral health and addiction care based on the needs of the communities we serve. The Intake Specialist Position:
Involves primary caregivers, family, and natural supports in treatment planning and overall care. Collaborates with healthcare providers, schools, community partners, and treatment team to coordinate care and support holistic well-being. Educates patients and families about mental health, coping strategies, and available resources. Delivers crisis intervention services as needed, applying evidence-based approaches to de-escalation and stabilization. Maintains accurate, timely clinical documentation that reflects medical necessity for services provided. Participates actively in case reviews, supervision, and interdisciplinary team meetings. Ensures client contact and direct care expectation are consistently met, proactively collaborating with their supervisor and treatment team to address and overcome any barriers to meeting these standards

Who We Need:
1. Master's degree in Mental Health (or Addictions) Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or related field, from an accredited institution accepted by the Indiana Health Professions Bureau. 2. License-eligible (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAC) in Indiana. Master's level therapists must pursue and maintain associate licensure in their field of study (i.e., LSW, LMHC-A, LMFT-A, LCAC-A) until they obtain full independent clinical licensure. 3. Able to achieve the required competencies or privileges at Valley Oaks Health. 4. Meets pre-hire competency and reference requirements. 5. Holds a valid Indiana Driver's License, a good driving record, and insurance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Good usage of the English language; reading, writing, and speaking required. 2. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. 3. Attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. 4. Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written and oral communication skills. 5. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
