  • $75 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Evidence-based interventions in treatment planning Working with individuals with mental health conditions Data collection Crisis intervention counseling Full Job Description Therapeutic Clinician West Springfield Public SchoolsThe therapeutic clinician provides direct mental and behavioral health services to students, creates and maintains the therapeutic systems within district Social Emotional Behavioral Support (SEBS) programs, provides case management services for their assigned caseload, and supports SEBS program staff in implementation of evidence-based social emotional and behavioral supports.
The therapeutic clinician must have a strong background in evidence-based mental and behavioral health services, crisis assessment and intervention, program organization, and case management. The Therapeutic Clinician will work in SEBS programs across multiple schools.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work under the direction of the Executive Director of Special Services in collaboration with Special Education Supervisors and the Social Emotional Learning Coordinator. Provide integrated individual, group, and crisis counseling services to students.
  • Develop and implement function-based behavior support plans and student safety plans.
  • Facilitate fidelity and outcome data collection for student social emotional and behavioral interventions.
  • Provide consultation to staff, including coaching and modeling evidence-based behavior support and de-escalation strategies. Facilitate crisis assessments, including crisis intervention and coordination to community services.
  • Support the Social Emotional Behavior Specialist in facilitation of weekly team meetings with SEBS staff to address individual student needs and systems-levels prevention and intervention services within the SEBS programs.
  • Collaborate with the Social Emotional Behavior Specialist in refining systems and structures of the SEBS programs.
  • Participate in IEP team meetings and support the Educational Team Leaders in creation of IEP components related to social emotional and behavioral needs in accordance with district requirements and IDEA. Collaborate with school, community, and home teams to generalize therapeutic supports across settings, including case management for the assigned caseload.
  • Create and provide professional development to district staff regarding trauma-informed educational practices, crisis intervention, behavioral supports, and school-based mental health services.
  • Participate in and maintain QBS Safety Care certification.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the scope of the position.
Skills:
  • Experience working with children who exhibit significant social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary best practices in trauma-informed case conceptualization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary best practices for implementation of evidence-based clinical mental health and behavioral services, such as social skills instruction, cognitive behavioral interventions, and solution-focused counseling.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed educational practices. Familiarity with best-practices for de-escalation in a school setting.
  • Focused on solution creation through data-based decision making.
  • Ability to implement practices in general and special education settings.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in a public school setting is preferred.
Independent Contract:
Full time, 7 hours per day, 185 work days per year Salary commensurate with experience, $55.00 per hour $75.00 per hourReports to the Executive Director of Special Services
