Job Description

//www.co.marquette.mi.us/departments/administrator/employment_opportunities.php General Summary Under the supervision of the Health Officer or designee, this position provides, completes and oversees, a variety of professional assignments to ensure casework and treatment services to clients working with staff under the Marquette County Health Department umbrella of programs. This position has a significantly high level of complexity. Considerable independent judgment is required to carry out assignments that have significant impact on services or programs. This position performs a full range of professional clinical social work assignments in a full-functioning capacity. Essential Functions 1. Triages walk-ins, parent / school referrals, telephone calls, school requests, and provides crises intervention with appropriate student referrals. 2. Provides psychosocial assessment and person-centered treatment plans with parental involvement as clinically appropriate. 3. Completes a behavioral health screen or risk assessment for every student engaged in mental health therapy services. 4. Provides preventative education for students regarding behavioral health issues. 5. Provides necessary social work treatment in accordance with medical treatment plans and modifies these plans to further therapeutic goals. 6. Works with the adolescent, family and other team members to provide assessment 7. Provides assistance to clients and their families in locating and taking advantage of any relevant community services available. 8. Responsible for making referrals to Child Protective Services if there is any suspected abuse / neglect of a child or vulnerable adult. 9. Makes referrals for medical and/or specialty services when appropriate. 10. Collects data on the characteristics of the students using the health center that is determined to need mental health or substance abuse treatment. 11. Collaborates with school staff (i.e. school social workers, guidance counselors, administrators, teachers, behavioral interventionists, disciplinarians, restorative practitioners, etc.) 12. Develop and provide professional development, workshops/trainings to staff, parents, students, and community on relevant child and adolescent behavioral heal issues. 13. Participates in workshops, meetings, and conferences as needed to continue professional education for self, other staff and the community. 14. Obtains social data and maintains accurate records and prepares verbal and written reports and correspondence related to the work. 15. Responsible for documentation of electronic health records. 16. Maintains pertinent and timely documentation of interventions, accurately maintains statistical data, collects and maintains information for quality assurance indicators as required. 17. May assist with the training of new clinicians on E3, clinic operations, program components, and electronic medical record use. 18. Performs related work as assigned. Other Functions 19. Function in a response capacity to public health emergencies consistent with knowledge, skills, experience and professional licensure/certification. Acquire knowledge to be competent in appropriate response roles. This list may not be inclusive of the total scope of job functions to be performed. Employment Qualifications Education:
Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work or related human service area as required for Clinical Master's level Social Worker licensure (see below).
Experience:
One year direct clinical experience, preferably working with adolescents. Experience with documentation in electronic health records is preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid MI Driver's License.
  • Maintain a State of Michigan license as a mental health clinician.
  • Maintain all continuing education requirements.
  • Qualified to receive third-party insurance payments for mental health services.

Pay:
$33.35 - $40.69 per hour
