Specialty CTI Team Salary:
$65,000/yr What if your clinical expertise could be the bridge between crisis and community? At FREE , we believe every person — regardless of ability — deserves to thrive. As a Behavior Intervention Specialist , you'll be that bridge for some of Long Island's most vulnerable individuals.
Your impact:
Transform lives Build person-centered behavior plans that move people from crisis toward lasting community stability. Bridge hospital to home Partner with hospitals and CTI teams to navigate the critical transition from inpatient care to the community. Lead with expertise Conduct FBAs, administer psychological assessments, train staff, and consult across complex systems. What you'll do Design and evaluate trauma-informed, strengths-based behavior support plans Conduct functional behavioral assessments and interpret standardized tools (WAIS, Vineland, etc.) Train/coach direct care staff in proactive behavioral strategies and de-escalation Participate in on-call crisis response across the ESD program Collaborate across OMH, OPWDD, community systems to unlock access to care Carry a specialized caseload of people with complex behavioral needs You're a fit if you have Master's in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field Experience with MH/IDD populations (co-occurring a big plus) LCSW, LMHC, LMSW or pursuing licensure Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports and recovery-oriented practice Familiarity with
OMH/OPWDD
