Job Description
The Mental Health Professional serves as a ministry staff member supporting the emotional, psychological, spiritual, and relational well-being of pregnant women, mothers, and young children residing in a faith-based pro-life residential program. This role integrates professional behavioral health services with the organization's religious mission of affirming the sanctity of life, strengthening families, encouraging personal healing, and promoting Christian values through compassionate care and guidance. The Mental Health Professional provides counseling support, assessments, life-skills instruction, psychoeducational programming, and therapeutic group services designed to help residents achieve emotional stability, healthy parenting practices, self-sufficiency, and spiritual growth consistent with the ministry's mission and values.
Hours and Compensation Part-Time:
Approximately 10-12 hours per week
Compensation:
$60 per hour Essential Ministerial Duties and Responsibilities Conduct mental health evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and behavioral screenings for residents entering or participating in the residential ministry program. Provide individual supportive counseling and crisis intervention consistent with the organization's faith-based and pro-life mission. Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational group sessions addressing emotional wellness, parenting, trauma recovery, healthy relationships, coping skills, and personal responsibility. Lead life-skills and day-treatment programming focused on self-sufficiency, communication, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, budgeting, parenting, and healthy decision-making. Support residents in developing treatment goals and personal growth plans aligned with the ministry's mission of restoring hope, dignity, and family stability. Collaborate with ministry leadership and residential staff regarding resident care, progress, behavioral concerns, and community resources. Encourage emotional healing and healthy family relationships through compassionate, faith-informed support and mentoring. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment notes, referrals, attendance, and progress reports in accordance with applicable standards and confidentiality requirements. Assist with referrals to community mental health, medical, educational, or social service resources when appropriate. Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and case consultations as requested. Uphold and model the organization's religious beliefs, pro-life values, and standards of conduct in all interactions with residents, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Preferred Qualifications Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Psychiatric Nurse Psychiatric Social Worker Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Psychologist Behavioral Health Specialist Mental Health Counselor Comparable behavioral or mental health professional experience Desired Experience and Skills Experience working with women in crisis, pregnant women, homeless populations, families, children, or trauma-informed care settings. Knowledge of behavioral health assessments, therapeutic interventions, and group facilitation techniques. Ability to teach practical life skills and emotional wellness strategies. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a faith-based ministry environment. Sensitivity to the emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of vulnerable women and families.
