Clients live in 17 studio apartments in a building staffed with Intensive Case Managers and Behavioral Health Support Specialists 24/7. Two Intensive Case Managers assist clients with severe and persistent mental illness to live independently, have a high quality of life and reach their recovery goals. The small caseload gives the case manager an opportunity to provide creative and individualized services to each client. This is accomplished through a collaborative process with the clients, other team members within the agency, external providers, and natural supports. The intensive case manager is a fulfilling and flexible position in which a clinician must be able to work independently as well as within a team setting. The open full-time schedule is four ten-hour days, Wednesday through Saturday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Develops, writes, and implements individualized treatment plans to assist clients in meeting their recovery goals.
• Develop therapeutic and effective working relationships with clients, while maintaining professional boundaries with clients and their support system. Exhibits good clinical judgment in possibly challenging situations.
• Precisely monitors and documents consumer medication compliance in our Electronic MAR (medication administration record.). Educates consumers regarding the benefits of medication compliance.
• Effectively intervenes in client crises, proactively deescalates volatile situations. Consults with agency staff, on-call supervisors, and King County Designated Crisis Responders. May be required to write affidavits and testify in civil (mental health) court hearings regarding involuntary detention.
• Maintains confidentiality of clients' Protected Health Information (PHI) and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
• Develops healthy and effective working relationships with clients, their significant others, staff at TR, primary care providers, psychiatric hospitals, and other community agencies. Maintains professional boundaries with clients and their support system.
• Spends much time in the community, motivating, teaching, and assisting clients in self-care skills, coping and stress reduction strategies, structured day activities, interpersonal skills. Runs therapeutic groups and activities for clients and documents them in the electronic health record.
• Maintain high quality documentation in accordance with King County BHRD and agency standards.
• Utilizes technique such as Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care principles, CBTp and evidence-based practices to move the client towards readiness to engage in services, develop insight into their illness, effectively cope with symptoms, medication compliance, etc.
• Provides referral to employment services or assistance to gain other meaningful day structure. Motivates and assists clients to pursue an appropriate vocational opportunity as indicated.
• Must be able to work on-site, remote work is not available for this position.

RELATIONSHIP WITH COMMUNITY AND CO-WORKERS 1

) Contributes to cooperative working relationships with clinical teammates and with supervisors, and other staff within the agency. 2) Solicits and provides case consultation and coordination as needed. 3) Presents a positive professional image of the agency to referral sources, other service providers, neighbors, and the larger community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS MA

in Human Services field plus treatment experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. MA/MHP, or BA and 5 years behavioral health experience preferred. Other residential or social service experience may substitute. The position requires state Agency Affiliated Counselor registration, first aid/CPR training, HIV related training, TB blood test, criminal background and fingerprint ID, valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record in order to drive Agency vehicles. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to tolerate and work effectively with unruly, unpleasant, or bizarre behavior. Must be able to tolerate possible substance use by clients and support a harm reduction approach to substance use.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The requirements described here are representative of those needed to fulfill the basic requirements of the position. Must be able to walk up and down stairs several times a day and lift up to 30 pounds if needed.

WAGES & BENEFITS

$48.83/hour, MA level. $42.86/hour BA level. Additonal $2.50 per hour for working weekend shifts. Benefits include 22 paid leave days per year of service and 10 paid holidays, agency paid medical and dental insurance; long term disability insurance; and voluntary participation in the Agency sponsored AFLAC cafeteria plan, 403(b) retirement plan, and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) after one year of service.

HOURS 40

hours per week, Sunday through Wednesday, 8:30am to 6:30pm. This is a non-exempt position.
