Responsibilities
SUMMARY STATEMENT & PURPOSE
The Clinical Therapist provides psycho-social assessments, consultations, mental health information, psycho-education , crisis intervention, short-term supportive therapy, group therapy, SUD evaluations, and discharge planning. They use evidence-based practices to help patients achieve optimal mental and emotional health. All employees are expected to be pleasant, respectful , and courteous in all interactions with patients, families, staf f, and visitors of the Hospital , as well as being a positiv e representative of INBH at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A
Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as counseling, social work, psychology, or a related discipline. Must obtain an Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC), or Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical (SWAIC). Direct experience in individual and family group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment planning. Current BLS , First Aid, Handle with Care, and Verbal De-Escalation certification, provided by
INBH. PREFERRED QUALIFI CATIONS
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW), Licensed Psychologist Preferred three (3) years, post-Master's experience in a psychiatric health care setting. Active Chemical Dependency Professional/Trainee license. Qualifications Formulate and conduct educational, therapeutic and /or support groups, including teaching patients the tools they need to participate in treatment Assess and identify psychosocial, educational, developmental and behavioral functioning of the client/family system utilizing evidence-based practice and appropriate services that are needed. Complete assessment update during individual sessions and document when there are significant changes to the patient's condition. Consult with families on emotional, social and financial aspects of care Facilitate family meeting for all patients assigned Facilitate 1:1 sessions with all patients assigned where the individual service plan is created collaboratively with patients Develop an effective working relationship with patient and/or family - engagement, collaboration, advocacy, problem solving Evaluate and document effectiveness of interventions and patient responses Comply with required standards for medical/legal reporting situations ( i.e. child abuse, dependent adult abuse, psychiatric commitment) Participate in team meetings , patient care conferences, service planning and communicate discharge needs to the clinical team Demonstrates knowledge of bio-psychosocial factors and DSM-5 related to the ages of the patients served and incorporates the knowledge into the service plan. Ability to also recognize the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups (adolescent and adult) Collaborate with the clinical team, UR, and treatment providers as necessary and ensure ROI is complete and communicate effectively with referral sources, health care team members and community providers regarding patient status and progress Maintain confidentiality in compliance with professional ethics according to professional and facility standards Participate in performance improvement projects and activities at the facility
