Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced Child Care Director to lead and oversee the daily operations of our vibrant childcare center. In this vital role, you will cultivate a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where children can thrive and develop their full potential. Your leadership will ensure that high-quality early childhood education is delivered consistently, while maintaining compliance with licensing standards and fostering positive relationships with families. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape young lives through innovative teaching practices and compassionate supervision. Responsibilities Manage the overall daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and families. Lead, mentor, and support a team of teachers and caregivers by providing ongoing training in child development instruction, classroom management, behavior management, and mandated reporting laws. Oversee age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote childhood development milestones for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs. Oversee classroom activities to ensure they meet educational standards and foster social-emotional growth through engaging play-based learning. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to build trust and strong partnerships. Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations related to daycare center experience, pediatric first aid, first aid and CPR certifications, and health & safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, staff schedules, and licensing documentation to support operational excellence. Qualifications Proven experience working with children across various age groups in daycare or preschool settings; prior classroom experience is essential. Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development theories, and classroom management techniques. Must have a director credentials, Certified in first aid, CPR (including pediatric first aid), and trained in mandated reporting laws applicable to childcare providers. Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising childcare staff or teaching teams.
