This individual must be highly organized, solutions-oriented, and committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and academically enriching environment for children from infancy through elementary school age. Active Florida Director Credential or the ability to obtain or renew the credential before assuming full director responsibilities. Completion of required Florida Department of Children and Families childcare training. Ability to satisfy all required background-screening and employment eligibility requirements. Minimum of three years of leadership or management experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early learning program. Working knowledge of Florida childcare licensing regulations, staff-to-child ratios, health and safety practices, and recordkeeping requirements. Demonstrated experience supervising employees and managing daily center operations. Written, verbal, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and professionally in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with computers, childcare management systems, email, digital records, and standard office applications. Ability to work the hours necessary to support opening, closing, staffing, family, and emergency needs. Preferred Qualifications B achelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, or related field. Five or more years of childcare leadership experience. Experience with private school operations, accreditation, quality-rating programs, school-readiness services, scholarships, or elementary education. Experience improving enrollment, managing budgets, controlling labor expenses, and increasing family retention. Experience coaching teachers, conducting classroom observations, and supporting curriculum implementation . Ability to speak English and Spanish. Current CPR and First Aid certification. Knowledge of APPLE Accreditation, CLASS observations, CACFP, Florida's Early Learning and Developmental Standards, or similar quality frameworks. Responsibilities :
Provide daily leadership and oversight for all childcare, preschool, private school, and school-age programs. Ensure continuous compliance with Florida childcare licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, background-screening requirements, and school policies. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate learning environment throughout the campus. Lead the centers accreditation, quality-improvement, and school-readiness efforts. Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, supervise , coach, evaluate, and retain qualified teachers and support staff. Create staff schedules that maintain required teacher-to-child ratios while supporting efficient labor management. Monitor employee credentials, training requirements, professional-development plans, attendance, and performance. Conduct classroom observations and provide teachers with meaningful coaching and corrective support. Ensure that curriculum, lesson plans, classroom practices, child assessments, and learning environments meet program expectations. Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, employees, vendors, community partners, and regulatory agencies . Respond promptly and professionally to parent questions, concerns, and service needs. Lead enrollment, retention, family engagement, tours, community outreach, and school marketing initiatives. Monitor enrollment goals, tuition collection, accounts, staffing expenses, purchasing , and operational budgets. Maintain accurate student, employee, licensing, health, safety, attendance, and compliance records. Coordinate emergency preparedness, incident reporting, transportation oversight, food-service compliance, and campus security procedures. Support the continued growth of the private school program and related scholarship, curriculum, and regulatory requirements. Step into classrooms or other operational roles when necessary to maintain safety, ratios, and uninterrupted services. Communicate regularly with ownership regarding enrollment, staffing, compliance, financial performance, facility needs, and school goals.
