Director of Child Care Services (Licensed Child Care Director) Dramatic Education, Inc. - 3.1 Orlando, FL Job Details Full-time 1 hour ago Qualifications Team supervision Social service program staff supervision Stakeholder relationship building Full Job Description Director of Child Care Services (Licensed Child Care Director) Position Summary The Director of Child Care Services is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and compliance of child care programs, including preschool, VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten), before-school, after-school, and summer programs. This position requires a valid Florida Child Care Director Credential and demonstrated experience in supervising staff, managing multiple locations, and establishing and overseeing VPK programs. The Director ensures compliance with all state, local, and licensing regulations while maintaining high-quality educational and enrichment experiences for children and families. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of child care and VPK programs. Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure program quality and compliance. Ensure compliance with all requirements of the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), Early Learning Coalition (ELC), and Florida VPK standards. Monitor enrollment, attendance, and staffing ratios. Maintain all required licensing, health, safety, and program documentation. VPK Program Development Establish and oversee new VPK locations. Coordinate classroom setup, licensing requirements, curriculum implementation, and enrollment processes. Ensure VPK programs meet all state readiness and accountability requirements. Support teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate practices and assessments. Staff Leadership & Supervision Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate child care and VPK staff. Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development sessions. Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage at all locations. Mentor site directors, coordinators, and teaching staff. Address employee performance concerns and implement corrective action when necessary. Compliance & Quality Assurance Conduct site visits and program audits. Ensure compliance with DCF licensing standards, health regulations, and safety protocols. Prepare for licensing inspections and maintain compliance records. Investigate and document incidents, parent concerns, and staff issues. Family & Community Relations Build positive relationships with families, schools, community partners, and regulatory agencies. Address parent concerns professionally and promptly. Promote programs through outreach, enrollment events, and community engagement. Financial & Operational Management Assist with budgeting, staffing forecasts, and program planning. Monitor supply inventories and operational needs. Support enrollment growth and retention efforts.
