Competitive Compensation Package including Bonus Structure About the Family A warm, professional, and down-to-earth, high achieving family is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Senior Nanny / Family Assistant to join their long-term household team. This position is ideal for a career nanny who enjoys being deeply involved in children's development while also supporting household organization and family logistics. The role combines approximately 70-80% childcare responsibilities with 20-30% family assistant and household support duties. The family values education, flexibility, emotional maturity, teamwork, direct communication, and a low-ego approach. They are seeking a candidate who is proactive, dependable, highly organized, and comfortable working collaboratively within an established household structure. The successful candidate will work alongside another long-term nanny and become an integral part of a busy but nurturing household during an exciting transition period, including a new home, evolving school schedules, and changing family needs. Children 3 children ages 2, 4 & 12 (2 Nannies work together) Position Overview The primary focus of this role is providing exceptional care, guidance, structure, and support for the children while helping maintain the smooth daily operation of the household. The family is seeking a professional who can seamlessly transition between childcare responsibilities and family assistant duties during school hours. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys becoming a trusted partner to a family and growing alongside them as household needs evolve. Childcare Responsibilities Provide attentive, safety-focused care for three children Support age-appropriate developmental milestones Assist with school drop-offs and pick-ups Manage after-school routines and transitions Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children Support homework, reading, and educational activities Reinforce positive behavior and family routines Plan engaging local outings and enrichment activities Support summer learning programs and educational goals Maintain children's schedules, routines, and activity records Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional development Assist with swimming, outdoor play, and active engagement Family Assistant & Household Support Responsibilities During school hours, the candidate will assist with household operations including: Family laundry - although they are likely going to hire a Housekeeper to attend to the majority of this in the future. Household organization projects Rotating children's clothing, toys, and seasonal items Donation organization and household decluttering Running errands (UPS, returns, groceries, household supplies) Managing household inventory and replenishment Light kitchen maintenance and tidying Loading and unloading dishwasher Coordinating routine household needs and vendors as directed Supporting household systems and organization Assisting with household transitions during upcoming move This is not a House Manager role. The household support responsibilities are intended to complement the childcare component (household tasks are done when children are in school) and help maintain an organized and efficient home environment. Schedule The schedule will vary based on school calendars, parental travel, and household needs. Typically around 45 hours per week. Summer Schedule Full-time coverage shared with another nanny / family assistant Monday-Friday Coverage generally falls within a 7:00 AM-6:30 PM household schedule Overlapping shifts and collaborative scheduling School-Year Schedule - Flexible schedule with guaranteed minimum hours Early morning availability may be required, including occasional 6:30 AM starts Household support duties performed during school hours Average schedule expected to be approximately 45 hours per week, some weeks less around 35 hours Additional flexibility may include: Approximately two evenings per week during parental travel Occasional date nights Occasional weekend coverage as mutually agreed Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be: Warm, nurturing, bubbly and genuinely child-focused; childcare is priority #1 Possess strong critical thinking skills / be an "efficiency ninja" Highly organized and detail-oriented Emotionally mature and professional, no bad attitudes tolerated Adaptable during periods of transition and change (family is moving into a rental home and then a permanently newly constructed residence.) Comfortable receiving direction and collaborating with parents Self-managing and proactive Hardworking with a positive attitude Calm under pressure Flexible and solutions-oriented Low-maintenance, low-ego, and team-oriented Strong communicator with excellent follow-through Qualifications Minimum 8 years of professional Nanny / Family Assistant Significant experience supporting multiple children of varying ages Strong understanding of child development Prior Family Assistant experience strongly preferred Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Comfortable balancing childcare and household responsibilities Valid driver's license and clean driving record Comfortable driving children regularly CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Authorized to work in the United States Preferred but Not Required Bachelor's Degree Early Childhood Education background Additional Information Family vehicle provided for work-related driving They have No pets Mother travels often for work Long-term commitment strongly preferred Confidentiality and discretion are essential The family is seeking a dedicated professional who values consistency, teamwork, and building meaningful long-term relationships with the families they serve.
