Job Description

Special Needs Educator / Nanny for a Private Family Palm Beach, FL A private family in Palm Beach is seeking an experienced, caring, and proactive Special Needs Educator / Nanny to support their school-aged daughter with learning differences. The ideal candidate is energetic, adaptable, and willing to travel with the family as needed. The successful candidate will be fluent in English, an excellent communicator, and possess the education and training necessary to play an active role in the child's intellectual and physical development. This individual will work closely with the family, school, and therapists to provide consistent, collaborative support.
Responsibilities:
Actively communicate with the parents. Facilitate communication with the school, doctors, and therapists. Provide and reinforce research-based specialized instruction to address the learning goals and objectives defined by the child's IEP and therapists. Continually assess the child's progress and work with the parents and teachers to determine when adjustments are necessary. Support the structures in place to assist the child with homework. Educate and develop the child's natural aptitude; help develop skills that build independence. Help reinforce manners, etiquette, responsibility, cooperation, and appropriate conduct. Transport the child to and from activities/appointments when requested. Able to travel with the child between her parents' residences or on family trips to provide continuity of care. Qualifications Minimum of a
B.A./B.S.
in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate special education area. Minimum of 5 years of experience either teaching in a school or working with private families. Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching of students with learning differences. Natural love of and enthusiasm for children and education. Exceptional references. Upbeat, positive, and pleasant personality. Courteous, discreet, honest, and responsible. Willingly pitches in to support activities of daily living. A team player, hardworking, and detail oriented with strong organizational skills. A flexible attitude and be able to accommodate changes in a household routine. Patient, tolerant, and understanding with children and able to work in coordination with busy, working parents, and uphold philosophies regarding childcare. Willing to accept instruction and follow through on parents' preferences.
Schedule:
Generally, Monday through Friday Flexibility to work some extended hours and on the weekends as requested This role will include some travel with the family Compensation A base salary range of $140,000 -$160,000 offered, depending on experience. Excellent benefits package. 100% employer paid medical insurance, 50% employer paid dental and vision 15 days PTO, Sick days, 6 paid holidays Housing can be provided if desirable to the candidate and a vehicle will be provided for use during work hours.
