Our programs are designed to promote youth development and provide the tools, life skills, and support necessary to grow our youth into tomorrow's leaders. Welcome to the Y! ```Job Overview``` We are looking for reliable counselors to serve in our Youth Development Department. Counselors will serve a group of 15 youth, helping them to achieve the goals and objectives of the YMCA day camp. Counselors will assist in daily lesson plans and sever and lead participants in all activities. Must be 18 years of age or older, hold a current certificate in community first aid & CPR, have a criminal records check and drug screen. ```Duties```
- Supervise and engage with campers in various activities and games
- Plan and lead age-appropriate recreational activities
- Provide guidance and support to campers to ensure their safety and well-being
- Assist in organizing and implementing daily schedules and routines
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all campers
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a fun and memorable camp experience ```Requirements```
- Experience working with students or children in a childcare, special education, or early childhood education setting
- Ability to educate and inspire campers through engaging activities
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles (preferred but not required)
- First aid certification (preferred but not required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
