Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Childcare Center Director to lead our childcare facility, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and exceptional educational standards. This role requires strong leadership, administrative expertise, and a passion for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children, staff, and families.
Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all state childcare licensing rules and regulations. Conduct and document monthly fire, lockdown, and tornado drills. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student and staff files, attendance records, and incident reports.
Staff Management:
Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and continuous professional development of center staff. Regularly evaluate teaching staff performance, maintain evaluation records, and address attendance or punctuality concerns immediately. Develop and implement Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) as necessary. Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture through ongoing team-building initiatives and employee recognition programs.
Enrollment Management:
Manage interactions with prospective families via phone, email, social media, and in-person visits. Conduct informative, engaging tours for prospective families, effectively following up to secure enrollments.
Curriculum and Classroom Management:
Supervise curriculum planning and ensure structured classroom schedules are consistently followed. Conduct and document daily classroom observations, providing targeted professional development to improve teaching quality.
Facility and Operations Management:
Maintain daily facility cleanliness and oversee prompt maintenance and repairs. Manage operational needs, ensuring adequate classroom supplies and timely submission of maintenance requests.
Financial Management:
Oversee tuition collection, monitor expenditures, and manage center budgets effectively. Ensure payroll accuracy and alignment with staffing budgets, promptly reporting any discrepancies.
Parent Communication:
Act as the primary contact for parent inquiries and concerns, ensuring timely and professional responses. Regularly review teacher-parent communications via ProCare for quality and accuracy. Distribute an informative monthly newsletter highlighting key updates, events, and notices.
Marketing and Community Engagement:
Represent the center at local events and actively participate in community engagement. Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses for co-marketing opportunities and community involvement.
Professional Standards:
Maintain a professional appearance and uphold strict policies regarding staff technology use during operational hours.
Emergency Availability:
Serve as the primary emergency contact, being available for urgent issues outside regular operating hours.
Health and Safety:
Conduct comprehensive monthly health and safety audits focused on hygiene, handwashing, diapering, and overall facility cleanliness.
Reporting Requirements:
Submit daily operational data accurately via Google Sheets. Provide timely and detailed performance reports to the Regional Director on payroll, attendance, compliance, and center operations. Experience Proven experience in childcare center management, education administration, or a related leadership role. Strong familiarity with state childcare licensing regulations and compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability in staff management, professional development, and team leadership. Exceptional organizational skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and administrative management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
