We provide high-quality care and innovative learning frameworks for children from 6 weeks to 6 years old. As we continue to grow our program, we are seeking a highly competent, energetic, and resilient Center Director to lead our team, manage daily operations, and maintain our exceptional standards of care. Position Summary We aren't just looking for someone to check boxes; we need a true leader. The ideal Director is a master multitasker who balances strict regulatory compliance with a warm, collaborative leadership style. This role is highly rewarding but requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can navigate the natural "stressfulness" of childcare management with grace, authority, and solutions-oriented thinking.
Key Responsibilities Daily Operations & Leadership:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and organized environment for children, staff, and families.
PDF Staff Management & Teamwork:
Recruit, onboard, mentor, and manage our team of lead teachers and assistant teachers. Fosters a culture of strong teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect.
PDF Curriculum & Program Quality:
Ensure classroom schedules and daily lesson plans align with Illinois teaching strategies and our core educational frameworks.
PDF Family & Community Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, handling tours, enrollments, billing inquiries, and conflict resolution with empathy and professionalism.
Administrative Oversight:
Track enrollment metrics, maintain student files, and manage operational reporting to support the center's long-term scaling goals. DCFS Standards & Compliance Focus Compliance is our absolute bedrock. The Director must ensure the center remains in perfect standing with all state regulations: Maintain absolute compliance with all Illinois DCFS licensing standards , including staff-to-child ratios, background clearances, and medical records.

PDF Conduct regular internal audits of children's and staff files to guarantee full regulatory readiness at all times. Manage facility safety protocols, including coordinating required fire, sprinkler, health, and safety inspections. Serve as the primary liaison during all DCFS licensing representative visits and walkthroughs.

Qualifications & Requirements Must be Illinois DCFS Director Qualified (Gateways to Opportunity Director Credential preferred).PDF Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a closely related field with the state-required ECE semester hours. Proven experience working as a Childcare Center Director or Assistant Director. Deep, working knowledge of Illinois DCFS licensing regulations.

PDF Strong computer literacy (experience with childcare management software and CRMs is a major plus).PDF Must pass all background checks, fingerprinting, and medical clearances required by the State of Illinois.
