Job Description Part/Full Time floats: Part-time/full-time floats assist full-time teachers in the classroom in a variety of capacities. Playing with children, cleaning the classrooms, preparing materials, and addressing toileting needs are a few ways in which the caregivers are used at our center. Essential Responsibilities With the children and families:

• Assist in preparing age-appropriate activities for the children
• Assist in maintaining classroom discipline using positive guidance methods
• Maintain a nurturing atmosphere, treating all children and adults with respect
• Maintain confidentiality about children, families, and staff
• Alert full-time staff when caregivers are unsure of procedures or practices With the staff:
• Be flexible and versatile in classroom placements. To maintain the ratio, part-time caregivers are often assigned to several classrooms throughout their shift
• Recognize issues that full-time teachers and staff should handle With the operations of the

Center:

• Assist in managing the classroom by state licensing regulations Share in household duties to maintain a clean, safe environment. This includes, but is not limited to, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing materials, garbage removal, vacuuming, and straightening clutter.
• Complete the weekly closing checklist for the room you are assigned to
• Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications
• A high school diploma or GED
• Displays a pleasant, approachable personality with children and families. Conveys a sense of warmth and calm with children and families.
• Ability to lift a fifty-pound child and full mobility, allowing a person to bend, reach, squat, sit, lift, and actively play with young children, is required
• Submission of criminal background checks, drug testing, references, and all health-related
