Job Description:
Amherst Montessori School is always looking for caring, reliable individuals to join our substitute pool. Ideal candidates enjoy working with children, have a warm and welcoming demeanor, and are available to work on an as-needed basis. Our substitutes support classrooms serving children from 3 months to 12 years of age, with assignments varying based on the needs of the day. If you're flexible, nurturing, and passionate about supporting children's learning, we'd love to hear from you! We are looking for candidates who: Have previous experience working with children Have strong initiative and work ethic Is responsive when the request to work is made by an administrator at AMS Is a team player and can take direction Show extreme flexibility as each day will have different coverage needs Who are excited to join the Amherst Montessori School community Is an excellent communicator Has some knowledge of the Montessori pedagogy or willing to learn more Responsibilities include: Supervising children outdoors on the playground or indoors for recess Assisting children with snowpants, coats, mittens, hats, shoes, etc. Assisting with keeping the classroom environment beautiful and orderly Cleaning and sanitizing Assistance with diapering or toileting Willingness to complete tasks requested by an AMS lead guide or assistant Hours will vary by week depending on the immediate needs of the school. Full and partial day shifts range from 8:00 a.m.•5:45 p.m. Please feel welcome to apply if you only have partial availability during the week. Shifts are scheduled the morning of, or days in advance. Hourly rate is $16.00•20.00 depending on experience. A background check is required.
Pay:
$16.00•$20.00 per hour
