This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, being active, teaching new skills, and creating meaningful experiences . She loves music, games, books, walks, and getting out into the community , and we're looking for someone who will encourage her interests while helping her build confidence, communication, independence, and life skills. You won't just be providing support—you'll be helping her learn, grow, explore and become more independent. What You'll Do Build a trusting relationship

• Get to know her interests, personality, strengths, and preferences. Be active and have fun
• Participate in games, walks, music, books, recreational activities and community outings. Support safety and independence
• Provide appropriate supervision while encouraging her to do as much as possible on her own. Help her learn
• Assist with academic activities, leisure skills, daily routines and new experiences. Support communication
• Model language using her speech-generating device and encourage functional communication. Break big tasks into small steps
• Provide prompts and encouragement to help her successfully complete activities. Encourage self-regulation
• Help her recognize emotions, manage challenges and develop positive coping strategies. Promote social skills
• Encourage positive interactions and participation with others. Celebrate progress

Experience & Training RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification is perfered Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is strongly preferred. Teaching, special education, ABA, behavioral support, occupational therapy, speech/communication, childcare, recreation or related experience is a plus. Training and orientation will be provided to help the right person succeed in the position. Pay & Schedule $25

• 30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Part-Time | Up to 24 hours per week

Weekdays:

After school, approximately 4:00-6:00 PM Some evenings may extend until 9:00 PM Other potential hours

Weekends:

Saturday and Sunday, approximately 10:00 AM-4:00 PM Hours may vary depending on activities, school schedule and family needs. Location Potomac, MD 20854 This is an in-person position .
