Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and attentive Overnight Childcare Worker to supervise children during third shift hours (10p-6a). •
MUST HAVE WEEKEND AVAILABILITY
•This role focuses on maintaining a calm, safe, and secure environment while children are sleeping, as well as providing quiet, comforting activities when children wake during the night. The ideal candidate is responsible, patient, and able to remain alert and engaged throughout the entire shift. As children enter the center for the night, provide activities and direct supervision and interactions. We do not force the children to go to sleep until they show signs of being tired. Be prepared to engage, play, and have fun with them! Supervise children overnight while they are sleeping, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Respond calmly and appropriately to children who wake during the night Facilitate quiet, age-appropriate wind-down activities as needed (reading, soft play, comfort routines, etc.) Maintain a peaceful and structured nighttime environment Complete light cleaning, sanitizing, and organization duties during downtime Follow all childcare policies, safety procedures, and nighttime routines Document incidents, observations, or concerns as required Communicate effectively with staff during shift transitions Perform other related childcare and facility duties as needed during overnight hours Qualifications Ability to stay awake, alert, and attentive for the full overnight shift Experience working overnight shifts Experience working with children (childcare, daycare, residential care, or similar preferred) Calm demeanor and strong patience, especially during nighttime hours Dependable, punctual, and responsible Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Basic cleaning and organizational skills CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred Physical & Schedule Requirements Ability to remain on duty and attentive for overnight hours Ability to respond quickly in case of emergencies Comfortable working in a quiet, low-stimulation environment
