Job Description

IT'S TIME TO START HIRING FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR. WE NEED YOUTH DEVELOPMENT STAFF AT OUR AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS. WE HAVE OPENINGS IN SEDALIA AND VARIOUS OUTLYING CLUB LOCATIONS. START DATE WOULD BE AROUND AUGUST 17, 2026. WE NEED STAFF WHO ARE ENGAGING, CREATIVE, OPEN-MINDED, BIG HEARTED, PATIENT, SUPPORTIVE, ENTHUSIASTIC, AND FUN!
BOYS & GIRLS
CLUBS MUST MAINTAIN A RATIO OF 1 STAFF TO EVERY 15 CHILDREN. STAFF MUST BE RELIABLE AND AVAILABLE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 2
30-6:30PM.
MONDAY HOURS COULD VARY DEPENDING ON LOCATION.
Boys & Girls Clubs provide a safe place for kids to go after school and in the summertime. Our aim is to improve the lives of kids by providing fun & innovative programming, opportunity, and safety - enabling them to live joyfully, powerfully and responsibly. The Youth Development Professional is responsible for providing direct supervision to school-age youth. Providing a fun environment and playing with kids is one of the perks of the job. You would be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of programs and activities while helping to create a fun Club environment that facilitates the achievement of desirable youth development outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL
The qualified candidate would possess skills in planning, decision making, and communication as well as being a positive team player. Must have the ability to think creatively, plan and implement activities following guidelines as set forth by Boys & Girls Clubs. Strict confidentiality. Punctuality and dependability is crucial. 18 years of age and over with a high school diploma or GED. Certification in 1st Aid/CPR is required, training will be provided by the Club. Experience working with youth either in a paid or volunteer capacity is preferred but not required.
MUST PASS PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING. NATIONAL CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENING IS REQUIRED. MUST ATTEND MANDATORY ORIENTATION AND TRAININGS.
