A Nanny or Babysitter provides care for children in their homes. Stays with children on a regular basis or for occasional day or evening times, or works full time; may live with a family.
This family is searching for a true newborn expert to walk alongside them as they welcome the greatest gift of their lives. An exceptional family in Hattiesburg, Mississippi is preparing to welcome their first baby girl this September, and they are searching for an experienced Night Nanny or Newborn Care Specialist to help them begin this new chapter. Having been together since they were eighteen years old, this moment has been years in the making. Now, after building amazing careers caring for others, they are eagerly preparing to become parents themselves. Both parents are physicians whose work is centered around serving patients every day. Their schedules are demanding, their responsibilities are significant, and they understand how important quality sleep will be as they transition into parenthood. They are looking for overnight support for the first three to four months of their daughter's life, creating an environment where both baby and parents can thrive during those precious early weeks together. What makes this opportunity especially unique is the incredible honor they have for the profession of Nannies and newborn care. They recognize that while they are highly trained medical professionals, caring for a newborn at home is a completely different expertise. They deeply value the knowledge, experience, and wisdom that a seasoned Night Nanny brings and are eager to welcome someone whose guidance they can trust. They want this relationship to feel collaborative, built on mutual respect, clear communication, and genuine appreciation for the important role you will play in their daughter's earliest months. They are hoping to find someone with extensive newborn experience, particularly supporting breastfeeding mothers while maximizing maternal rest. They value a Night Nanny who is reliable, organized, attentive, and naturally nurturing. Someone who notices the little things, keeps the nursery and baby essentials in order, supports healthy sleep habits, and provides the reassurance that every new parent hopes to find during the newborn season. They recently returned home to Mississippi after completing their medical training out of state and are excited to care for the Hattiesburg community they love. They also share their home with three affectionate cats who are very much part of the family and would love someone who enjoys animals just as much as they do! This position is scheduled for approximately 50 hours each week, and the family has intentionally created an environment where their Night Nanny will feel comfortable. A private bedroom and bathroom are provided, and they are committed to maintaining clear expectations with the understanding that your focus should remain exactly where it belongs: caring for their baby girl. Beyond occasional bottle washing or baby laundry, your role is centered entirely on providing newborn care. For the right Night Nanny, this is far more than a temporary placement. It's an opportunity to walk alongside two remarkable parents during one of the most beautiful seasons of their lives. They are ready to invest in their daughter's well-being, they value the expertise you bring, and they cannot wait to welcome someone who will become a trusted part of their family's story from the very beginning! •
