A Nanny or Babysitter provides care for children in their homes. Stays with children on a regular basis or for occasional day or evening times, or works full time; may live with a family.

Both parents are surgeons, still early in their careers, raising a preschooler and a newborn in the middle of demanding workdays, preschool mornings, newborn routines, and all the beauty that comes with becoming a family of four. Spend time with this family, and you will quickly understand what matters most to them. They work hard, communicate honestly, and care deeply about the life they are building for their children. Their days may move quickly, but they do not want childhood to feel rushed. They want their little ones to have time to play, explore, read, imagine, and simply enjoy being children. Child development is not an afterthought for these parents. They want a Nanny who sees care as active and intentional and understands how play, language, routines, emotional connection, and social experiences shape the way children learn and grow. They value a professional who can meet both children where they are while supporting each stage of their cognitive, social, emotional, and language development. Full-time, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, generally scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Please Note:
This position requires flexibility with the daily end time. Depending on the mother's work schedule, some days may conclude around 2:00 or 3:00 PM, while others may extend until 5:00 or 6:00 PM. Candidates should anticipate being available until 6:00 PM, with earlier departures on days when the family's schedule allows.

Safely transporting children to and from school and scheduled activities Planning and facilitating engaging after-school activities that encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and creative development Preparing and planning nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with the family's preferences and dietary needs Assisting with the children's daily hygiene routines, including handwashing, toileting, bathing (if applicable), and dressing Encouraging independence through self-feeding, dressing, and basic hygiene routines Following the family's established quiet time and nap routines to promote consistency and healthy rest habits Providing attentive supervision during outings, including trips to parks, libraries, museums, enrichment activities, and playdates Maintaining light, day-to-day tidiness in common areas used by the children, including resetting spaces after meals, play, and daily routines by organizing toys, books, and learning materials and ensuring play areas remain clean, organized, and free of unnecessary clutter Creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that encourages learning through play and exploration Encouraging active and outdoor play Encouraging social development through playdates, group activities, and cooperative play Ensuring the safety and security of the child(ren) at all times Overseeing all aspects of infant care, including feedings, diaper changes, nap routines, and establishing a consistent daily schedule, as well as other tasks related to the infant's well-being and development Following the parents' established feeding and sleep routines for the infant while maintaining consistency and stability Preparing, washing, sterilizing, and organizing bottles, bottle parts, and feeding supplies using proper breastmilk and formula handling procedures Maintaining open, professional communication with the family regarding the children's daily activities, routines, milestones, and overall care Monitoring and tracking children's developmental milestones, feeding patterns, and sleep habits to support their growth and overall development Engaging in tummy time, sensory play, and age-appropriate activities to support motor skill development Maintaining detailed logs of feedings, diaper changes, and sleep patterns for parental reference Introducing early language development activities through conversation, storytelling, songs, and interactive play Dressing and bathing the infant while maintaining proper hygiene and skincare routines Monitoring for any signs of discomfort, illness, or developmental concerns and promptly notifying parents Following established routines and schedules for feedings, naps, and developmental activities to promote consistency, stability, and healthy development Creating and facilitating engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and development, including structured and free-play activities, sensory play, puzzles, and early learning exercises Ensuring a safe, sanitary, and organized environment, including babyproofing play areas, monitoring activities, and actively supervising children Supporting the children's laundry needs, including washing, folding, and putting away clothing as needed Communicating effectively and regularly with parents/guardians, providing updates on the children's daily activities, routines, milestones, and overall progress Performing emergency procedures such as Pediatric CPR and First Aid in the event of an emergency Responding swiftly and effectively to any emergency situations Supporting the development of children's social, emotional, and physical needs Observing & notifying parents of any signs of emotional, behavioral, or developmental delays and/or regressions Maintaining a positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team Maintaining professional and positive relationships with parents/guardians and all members of the household Maintaining strict confidentiality while respecting the family's privacy, household routines, and personal preferences
Qualifications:
Legal eligibility to work in the United States 18 years of age or older Fluent in English High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License and a safe driving record Valid Auto Insurance Reliable personal vehicle Successful completion of sexual misconduct screening, social media screening, reference verifications, and criminal and motor vehicle background checks Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification , or willingness to obtain certification prior to employment Comfortable with pets, including dogs Minimum of 3 years of childcare experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional childcare environment Minimum of 2 years of Nanny and/or Family Assistant experience in a private home (Preferred) Minimum of 2-3 professional childcare references Strong knowledge of childhood development Ability to perform tasks such as sitting, bending, and lifting children Physical ability to perform the duties associated with the role Ability to prepare nutritious meals and snacks when appropriate, and assist with children's feedings Ability to confidently manage and balance the distinct developmental, emotional, and daily needs of children at different ages simultaneously Comfortable safely transporting multiple children to and from school, appointments, extracurricular activities, and community outings Proactive, self-motivated, and highly dependable, with the ability to anticipate the family's needs, take initiative without constant direction, and consistently go above and beyond expected responsibilities Demonstrates a high level of integrity, honesty, professionalism, and discretion in all aspects of the role Patient, gentle, kind, and nurturing, with a calm and positive approach to guiding and caring for children Energetic and engaging, with the ability to actively participate in play, encourage curiosity, and keep children stimulated through age-appropriate activities Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain tidy, well-managed children's spaces, routines, and household systems Commitment to maintaining a clean, orderly, and efficient environment while balancing multiple responsibilities with ease Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to proactively offer suggestions that improve the family's daily routines and overall household efficiency Adaptable and intuitive, with the ability to learn a family's unique preferences, routines, and parenting style while providing personalized support Self-motivated, reflective, and skilled in effective communication Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion while working within private households Genuine love for children and a passion for supporting their growth, development, and overall well-being
