The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development and the unique challenges faced by families navigating the complexities of special education and care. This role requires the care of a teenager girl on Sundays, occasionally during the week as needed. Responsibilities Provide individualized advocacy for children with special needs, ensuring their rights are upheld in educational settings. Assist in meal preparation for child in your care. (When asked) Maintain a clean and organized space for children, promoting hygiene and safety. Offer first aid when necessary and respond effectively to any medical emergencies. Requirements Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is essential specifically with autism. Skills in autism care Familiarity with first aid practices is preferred; certification is a plus. Ability to prepare nutritious meals tailored to children's dietary requirements. A genuine passion for advocating for children's rights and well-being. Patience, empathy, and problem-solving skills are crucial for success in this role.
