Job Description

Part-Time Nanny & Family Assistant for 4-Yr Old, Growing to Full-Time | Bellport, Long Island | $25/hr
Job ID:
#2505 Position Overview Brooklyn Manny & Nanny is representing a warm, creative family in Bellport seeking a thoughtful, engaged nanny and family assistant for their 4-year-old son. This is a role with real room to grow: it begins part-time this fall caring for their son, expands into mother's helper support when the family welcomes a new baby in October, and transitions to full-time in May when mom returns to work. The household is relaxed and unpretentious, guided by a gentle-but-steady parenting philosophy, and the family is looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and wants to build something long-term (although they are open to someone who is only interested in the part-time, short term role as well). The Child & Household Their son is communicative, curious, and social — he loves showing people his ideas, telling jokes, and being actively engaged. He does best with a caregiver who arrives with a plan and a sense of structure rather than waiting to be directed. The family practices gentle parenting paired with calm, confident leadership: the child makes some choices, but the adult is clearly the one keeping him safe. The household is vegetarian (the nanny does not need to be, but should be comfortable preparing vegetarian meals) and includes one small, friendly dog.
