Part-time child-care in Sensory room - Sundays only

Join our vibrant team as a part-time child-care provider in the Sensory Room, working exclusively on Sundays! This dynamic role offers an exciting opportunity to support children with diverse needs in a specialized sensory environment. We're seeking an hourly employee before and during our Sunday church service in New Philadelphia, Ohio. The position will be staffed from 9 am until about 1pm. It includes a 30-minute leadership meeting each week at the beginning of the shift. We are looking for caring, dependable individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas: intervention specialist, occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, counseling/social work, or other developmental/adaptive abilities support. Students currently enrolled in specialized college programs in these fields will also be considered. Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate supervision in a sensory room setting. Support children with developmental, behavioral, or sensory needs. Follow church safety and confidentiality procedures. Attend the required leadership meeting at 9:00 a.m. Communicate professionally with church leadership, parents, and volunteers. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Sensory Room before and after sessions. Qualifications Experience in childcare, special education, therapy, counseling, or related developmental support is highly desired or prior experience in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings. Comfort working with children ages 3-7 with a range of needs. Reliability, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, children, and families. Students in relevant college programs are encouraged to apply. Certification in first aid and CPR is a bonus. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to handle diverse behaviors with patience and professionalism. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must pass a background check (paid for by employer).
