Job Description

The Greater Wyoming Valley Area YMCA is seeking a Part Time Child Care Floater/Support Staff to help support the operations of the Wilkes Barre Family YMCA Early Learning Center in Wilkes Barre, PA!
Available Shift:
Monday through Friday, 12:30pm-6pm
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, with a High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in Early Childhood Education
  • Flexibility to work between the hours or 7am and 6pm. This position will be scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, at the discretion of the Center Director.
  • This person should be a team player, have an outgoing personality and be able to get along with others.
  • Have the ability to obtain four clearances (Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, DHS Fingerprints, NSOR Clearance). Out of state clearances are required if this person has lived out of state within the last 5 years.
  • This person should be familiar with DHS licensing, Keystone STARS, CACFP, and Pre K Counts. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide tours of the center for new enrollments
  • Attend and assist facilitation of staff meetings
  • Classroom coverage
  • Training new staff members, and spending time in the classroom
  • Returning phone calls and email inquiries
  • Managing the waiting list
  • Collecting meal counts and attendance on a monthly basis, and ensuring that teachers are completing documentation
  • Working with Y USA to become a Praesidium Guardian, to assure compliance in prevention of Child Abuse.
