Childcare - Kitchen Staff Education Connection - 3.9 Killeen, TX Job Details Full-time $12 - $14 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Childcare Food service health code compliance High school diploma or GED Food preparation Food Handler Certification Full Job Description The hours for this position are 7 am - 4:30 pm, with a 1.5-2 hour lunch. Objective To assure that food service is being offered in a timely, healthy, and sanitary manner. Daily Duties May Include Knowing and being aware of the objective and purpose of the Minimum Standards. Preparing and distributing breakfast, lunch, and snack in enough time to allow them to be served according to the planned schedule. Knowing FP Assistance food prep guidelines and measurements. Knowing how much food and supplies to order for the upcoming week. Assuring that the kitchen is kept in an orderly and sanitary manner. Organized, clean, sanitized, and able to pass all health inspections. The kitchen is a community kitchen. This position has the overall responsibility for the cleanliness of the entire kitchen area and appliances. Responding to teacher's requests for items and/or breaks from the classsroom. Making sure kitchen is completely closed for the day. Cleaning, sanitizing, and washing of toys, linens, and dishes from the classrooms. Qualifications for the Job You must have a CLEAN background, and be able to pass a criminal background check through the DFPS/Childcare Licensing. You must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. You must have or be able to attain a Food Handler's card through the local county health department, or a certified online program. You must be able to lift 30 pounds from the floor to a waist-high table. There may be prolonged standing, but a chair or stool is available as needed. Overall, looking for a quick learner with a pleasant attitude and some initiative, experience or no experience.
