We are proud to be a school where people feel known, supported, and part of something that matters. The Director is the operational and cultural heart of Maple Grove Montessori. This person leads the day-to-day life of the school — managing staff, nurturing family relationships, maintaining licensing compliance, and partnering with ownership to grow enrollment. They are visible, trusted, and present: known to every family, relied upon by every staff member, and a genuine steward of the school's mission. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator in both English and Spanish, enabling them to connect authentically with our diverse families and expand our reach in the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
School Operations Oversee the daily operations of the school to ensure a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment. Maintain all state licensing requirements and lead the school through inspections, renewals, and regulatory updates. Manage facility needs, supply ordering, and vendor relationships. Maintain accurate student records, enrollment documentation, and required reporting. Staff Leadership Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain qualified childcare professionals. Provide consistent coaching, feedback, and professional development to all staff. Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable in a supportive, growth-oriented way. Manage staff schedules to maintain required student-to-teacher ratios. Family Engagement & Enrollment Serve as the primary point of contact for current and prospective families. Lead enrollment tours and follow up with every lead to maximize enrollment. Communicate proactively with families regarding their child's progress, school events, and updates. Support marketing initiatives and community outreach to grow visibility and enrollment. Use bilingual (English/Spanish) communication to serve and recruit from our diverse community. Partnership with Ownership Participate in weekly leadership check-ins with the owners. Provide regular enrollment, staffing, and operational updates. Collaborate on budget planning, tuition review, and growth goals. Help shape the culture and direction of the school as a key leadership voice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Minimum 3 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 1 year in a leadership or director role. Working knowledge of state childcare licensing standards and regulations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills — with families, staff, and community partners. Proven ability to manage a team and hold others accountable with care and clarity. Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Preferred Bilingual in Spanish and English — written and spoken. (Strongly preferred.) Familiarity with the Montessori philosophy and curriculum approach. Experience with enrollment management and parent engagement. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Director's Certificate, or related degree in Early Childhood Education. Experience with childcare management software.
