In this role, you will help provide a safe, calm, and nurturing environment overnight for children who have experienced trauma, while supporting a family-style residential program. If you are patient, attentive, and feel called to serve children in a meaningful way, this could be a great fit. About Children's Village Children's Village is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization providing hope and healing for abused and neglected children in East Texas. Our cottage home model allows children—often sibling groups—to live in a stable, family-style environment supported by: Live-in Cottage Parent couples Relief Cottage Parents Overnight Awake Staff A strong administrative and clinical team Position Overview Overnight Awake Staff provide continuous, awake supervision of children during sleeping hours to ensure safety and respond to any needs that arise overnight. You will be the primary caregiver overnight , while Cottage Parents are off duty unless needed for escalation.
Schedule Typical shift:
10:00 PM - 6:00 AM Part-time, flexible scheduling May work in either cottage depending on staffing needs Responsibilities Maintain constant awake supervision throughout the night Monitor children's safety, behavior, and well-being Respond to nighttime needs (comforting, restroom assistance, etc.) Perform routine monitoring/bed checks as required Use audio monitors for infants or children needing additional supervision Maintain a calm, structured overnight environment Document any significant events Communicate with Cottage Parents and staff as needed Contact Cottage Parents or Relief Staff if a situation requires escalation
What We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
Age 18+ (21+ if supervising teens) High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license Ability to stay awake and alert for entire shift Ability to pass: Background check Fingerprinting Drug screen TB test
