NOTE:
This is a temporary part-time position working various morning and evening shifts Monday through Friday. Saturday morning shifts will also need to be covered. Under the direction of the Federal Way Community Center's Member Services Coordinator, the Child Care Attendant will help plan, implement and lead daily activities for up to 10 children, ages 0-8, making sure that all children are safe, orderly and entertained. As a representative of the Parks Department, a uniform will be provided and must be worn during working hours. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Enjoy working patiently with children. Supervise and actively participate with children and serve as a positive role model for children at all times. Work closely with other staff in an enthusiastic, cooperative and supportive manner. Demonstrate strong organization and communication skills. Maintain safety of children at all times. Render first aid in case of minor/major injury. Clean program areas and store equipment and supplies at the end of each day. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of required reports. Attend required staff training and other meetings. Maintain professional image and positive attitude at all times. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned. Knowledge and Abilities Must be at least 16 years of age. Current First Aid, Infant, Child and Adult CPR cards required. Experience in planning, implementing and supervising activities for children preferred. Responsible for own transportation to and from job site. Ability to successfully pass a background check. This position is not eligible for benefits.
