Job Description

The Childcare Tech provides quality infant and childcare services for children of hospital employees, assisting in daily activities, documentation, and maintaining licensing standards in a caring, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment. High School Diploma required, must be 18 + Minimum one year experience in a childcare setting CPR /First Aid Certification CDA (Child Development Associate) preferred Observe, respond, and provide care for children's needs, emergencies, and conflicts in all settings. Participate fully in daily classroom and program activities (circle time, arts/crafts, meals, story/outside time). Record daily observations and complete daily notes and reports for each child, including diapers, feedings, naps, and developmental milestones. Maintain knowledge of and comply with Department of Family Services licensing rules and hospital policies. Perform minor first aid, routine handwashing, and proper hygiene standards. Respond quickly to urgent situations and actively engage in activities and support of other staff. Communicate effectively with families and fellow staff, always maintaining confidentiality. Report suspected child abuse in accordance with MHCC Childcare Center policy. Organize and lead age-appropriate activities to promote children's physical, mental, and social development. Enforce behavior rules and maintain classroom and playground order. Attend and participate in all required training for the hospital, DFS, and childcare department. Maintain clean, sanitary, and orderly environment- sanitizing toys, cleaning bathrooms/changing tables, sweeping, and general organizational tasks. Foster a friendly and professional attitude, displaying respect, courtesy, and confidentiality towards children, families, and staff at all times. Demonstrate understanding of infection control, bloodborne and airborne pathogen precautions, and the correct use of protective barriers and controls. Promote positive working relations within and between departments, participating in meetings, supporting goals, and communicating effectively with all coworkers. Complete all assignments on time, support team function, and report to work as scheduled. Behave and dress in a professional and courteous manner consistent with the facilities Standards of Behavior. Perform other duties as assigned.
