ASSISTANT CHAPLAIN

Under the direction of the Director of Chaplain Services, is responsible for providing support to the healthcare mission of Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center, and to ensure the timely delivery of supportive emotional and spiritual services to patients, their families, and members of the Medical Center's community. Ensures that supportive emotional, religious and spiritual services are offered to patients, families and staff. Encourages and provides staff development. Assists in the development of various methods of expanding the departmental services to include various support groups and involvement from outside agencies. Complies with other requests and policies as directed. Bachelor's degree in Theology or Divinity required. At least one year of experience serving as a chaplain in a hospital environment. Certification in ACPE and/or license or certification as a Mental Health, Licensed Professional or Pastoral Counselor is desirable.
