About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Hospice Spiritual Counselor / Chaplain to serve as a member of our interdisciplinary hospice team. The Spiritual Counselor provides professional spiritual care, counseling, and emotional support to hospice patients and their families. This position assesses spiritual needs, develops individualized spiritual plans of care, provides support surrounding end-of-life concerns, and assists patients and families with grief, meaning, faith, reconciliation, hope, and other spiritual or existential concerns. Our Spiritual Counselor must be comfortable supporting individuals from diverse religious traditions, spiritual beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and those who do not identify with a particular faith. Key Responsibilities Conduct spiritual assessments of hospice patients and families. Provide individualized spiritual and emotional counseling related to serious illness, dying, death, grief, and loss. Develop and maintain spiritual plans of care based on each patient's beliefs, values, preferences, and needs. Provide prayer, scripture, rituals, sacraments, meditation, reflection, or other spiritual practices when requested and appropriate. Support patients experiencing fear, grief, spiritual distress, questions of meaning, reconciliation, or end-of-life concerns. Provide emotional and spiritual support to family members and caregivers. Respect and support patients who identify as religious, spiritual, agnostic, atheist, or otherwise non-religious. Coordinate with clergy, faith communities, or other spiritual resources when requested by the patient or family. Participate as an active member of the hospice interdisciplinary group (IDG). Collaborate with nurses, physicians, social workers, CNAs, bereavement staff, and other members of the hospice team. Provide bereavement and grief support as appropriate. Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation of spiritual assessments, visits, interventions, and patient/family responses. Participate in the spiritual care on-call rotation as required. Qualifications Candidates should have education and/or professional preparation specifically related to spiritual care, chaplaincy, ministry, theology, pastoral care, or a closely related discipline.

Qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in Theology, Divinity, Ministry, Religious Studies, Spiritual Care, Pastoral Care, or a related field ; Master's degree preferred. Formal chaplaincy, pastoral care, ministry, or spiritual-care training. Ordination, endorsement, commissioning, certification, or other recognized credential from a faith community or spiritual-care organization preferred. Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is highly desirable. Previous experience providing chaplaincy, hospice spiritual care, palliative care, pastoral counseling, grief support, or end-of-life spiritual care strongly preferred. Ability to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental spiritual care to individuals with beliefs and values different from one's own. Strong communication, counseling, listening, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in patients' homes and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary clinical team. Comfort working with patients and families experiencing terminal illness, death, grief, and bereavement. Schedule & Compensation Full-time position. Participation in an on-call rotation is required. Pay:

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
