We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and technologically proficient Chaplain to become an integral member of our interdisciplinary hospice team. The ideal candidate is comfortable providing spiritual care to individuals of all faith backgrounds (or no faith tradition), possesses excellent communication skills, and is confident using computers, iPads, and electronic medical records for timely documentation. Position Summary The Hospice Chaplain provides spiritual, emotional, and bereavement support to hospice patients, families, caregivers, and staff. Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, the Chaplain helps patients find peace, comfort, and meaning while respecting each individual's beliefs, values, and preferences. This position requires excellent organizational and technology skills, as all clinical documentation is completed electronically using an EMR on an iPad. Responsibilities Provide spiritual assessments for hospice patients and families. Develop and implement individualized spiritual care plans. Offer emotional, spiritual, and grief support to patients and caregivers. Respect and support diverse religious, cultural, and personal beliefs. Facilitate prayer, scripture reading, life review, rituals, and other spiritual interventions as requested. Coordinate visits with community clergy when appropriate. Participate as an active member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). Attend IDT meetings and collaborate with nurses, social workers, aides, physicians, and volunteers. Complete accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) following each patient visit. Maintain compliance with Medicare hospice regulations and agency policies. Provide spiritual support and education to hospice staff as appropriate. Technology Requirements This position is not paper charting. Applicants must be comfortable using technology daily , including: iPads and tablet devices Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Email and electronic communication Basic computer applications Completing documentation promptly and independently Strong computer skills are required. Candidates who are uncomfortable with technology or electronic charting may not be successful in this role. Qualifications Degree in Theology, Divinity, Pastoral Ministry, or related field preferred. Ordination, ecclesiastical endorsement, or equivalent spiritual leadership experience preferred. Experience in hospice, healthcare, palliative care, pastoral ministry, or counseling preferred. Ability to minister to individuals from all faith traditions while honoring each person's beliefs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency with computers, iPads, and EMR documentation. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
