Cantonese Lead Pastor Chinese Evangelical Free Church of Los Angeles Monterey Park, CA Job Details Full-time 21 hours ago Qualifications Cantonese Master of Divinity Full Job Description The Chinese Evangelical Free Church of Los Angeles is seeking a Lead Pastor for our Cantonese-speaking congregation. We are a family-oriented church with multiple language services (Cantonese, English, and Mandarin) and about 350 Sunday Cantonese service attendees. Under the lordship of Jesus Christ, we love and respect one another and serve joyfully together to make disciples of all nations. We are looking for a full-time minister with a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) degree and a minimum of five years of pastoral experience at a local church (North American experience preferred). The candidate will provide spiritual leadership through teaching and shepherding, in partnership with the Senior Pastor, church board, and lead pastors of the other language congregations, to oversee the body of Christ. General:
Accountable To:
The Church Board of CEFC and the Senior Pastor. Shepherd the Chinese Evangelical Free Church of Los Angeles (CEFC) with a special focus on the Cantonese-speaking members, through leading, equipping, and providing pastoral care. Lead and develop Cantonese ministry pastors and the shepherding team to achieve the mission and vision of

Vision:
We seek to display the love of Christ to people from all walks of life and connect them to Christ through: Strengthening prayer life Developing senior and family ministries Connecting with neighbors and the community Making disciples through mentoring Engaging in local and global outreach Oversee the Cantonese ministry to promote the healthy growth of the church body. Collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor, the Church Board, and Lead Pastors of other language congregations to guide the overall direction and strategies of the church.
Specific Duties:
Preaching and Teaching:
Prepare topical and scripture-based sermons, preaching on Sundays 2-3 times a month. Lead others to read the Bible and grow in their spiritual journey.
Prayer and Praise:
Lead the congregation in gospel-centered worship and prayer.
Equipping:
Oversee the teaching ministry at CEFC to ensure discipleship is grounded in Scripture. This includes managing the Sunday School curriculum, implementing a Bible reading plan, and training leaders through shepherding teams and discipleship meetings.
Fellowship:
Oversee all fellowship groups in the Cantonese ministry, encouraging them to focus on sanctification, community, and mission.
Outreach/Evangelism:
Cultivate a culture of evangelism where every member is equipped and motivated to share the Gospel as a natural part of the Christian life.
