A Religious Leader or Professional leads religious services and provides spiritual guidance or counseling. Presents knowledge and interpretation of theological texts. May work in a non-denominational setting like a prison or hospital, or work for specific faith-based congregation or denomination and follow the practices of that faith.
The Interim Director of Youth Ministry provides leadership, vision, and oversight to the faith formation of young people (grades 7-12) in coordination with the pastoral staff at New Hope. The Director helps nurture Christian faith and life within families, equips and empowers adult volunteers in youth ministry, and helps foster a culture of New Hope where young people feel welcome, valued, and fully integrated into the life of the congregation.
Essential Roles:
1. Oversee and lead a Youth Ministry Program for middle school and high school youth that includes worship, education, service and fellowship. 2. Develop, promote, and lead weekly youth group programs, special events, and Sunday School. 3. Keep accurate records of all activities and ensure paperwork is completed for activities and trips. 4. Provide a monthly Youth Update to the Session for their monthly meeting. 5. Involve youth in the congregation's life through worship, participation in inter-generational activities, mission projects, etc., ensuring youth are a visible and active part of the church. 6. Develop, train, and nurture youth ministry adult volunteers. 7. Lead the high school summer mission trip. 8. Assist with Confirmation Class.
Basic Duties:
1. Maintain regular communication with youth, parents, and adult volunteers. 2. Weekly gathering with the Senior Pastor for supervision and planning. 3. Schedule and coordinate youth activities with the church calendar. 4. Attend Weekly Staff Meeting.

Represent Christ and New Hope Presbyterian Church with grace and hospitality.

Experience in a leadership role with youth and family ministries in a church or faith setting. 6. Strong, vibrant, and growing commitment to Jesus Christ. 7. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers. 8. Proficiency with Office 365, social media, apps, and texting software. 9. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. 10. Work proactively and independently.
