Volunteer / Non-Paid Summary The United States Capitol Police Chaplaincy Program is seeking experienced and spiritually grounded leaders to serve as Volunteer Chaplains. Volunteer Chaplains provide confidential spiritual and emotional support to personnel across the Department, contributing to holistic wellness and mission readiness. Responsibilities Provide spiritual and emotional support to employees and family members. Offer presence during critical incidents and high-stress situations. Participate in wellness programming, ceremonies, and educational events. Conduct regular outreach within units to build rapport and accessibility. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards. Collaborate with chaplains and wellness professionals in a pluralistic environment. Minimum Qualifications Master of Divinity (MDiv) or terminal theological degree. Ecclesiastical endorsement from a Department of Defense-recognized endorser. Three to five years of professional ministry experience. Preferred Qualifications Law enforcement, military, hospital, or crisis-response chaplaincy experience. Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units. Additional Requirements Strong moral character, emotional steadiness, and sound judgment. Comfort providing care across diverse beliefs and backgrounds. Willingness to undergo a background investigation. This is a volunteer, non-paid position and does not confer federal employment.
