Job Description

Location :
700 N Citrus Ave, Crystal River, FL 34428 First Baptist Church of Crystal River has a vibrant and loving congregation focused on sharing God's word, mission and outreach to our community and beyond. This is a full-time position responsible for the professional management of the church offices. This position serves as the Personal Assistant to the Senior Pastor in all duties that he may deem necessary. This position will also have additional duties to coordinate all building and grounds usage. Additional secretarial duties may be called upon for support services to ordained staff. The optimal candidate will remain competent in secretarial and management skills and work efficiently and cooperatively with professional staff, church members, and the general public. Must have a heart for people.
Responsibilities:
Design and maintain an effective church office routine. Screen and schedule people seeking to see the Senior Pastor Provide primary coverage on answering the telephone. Will receive support from volunteers and other office staff when needed. Schedule and maintain church calendar in cooperation with the Senior Pastor. Work in partnership with the Business Administrator in scheduling building usage to include weddings and other events. Work with the Business Administrator to foster a high level of cooperation throughout the entire church facility. In coordination with all staff, develop weekly church bulletins, monthly newsletter and other written material related to the ministries of the church. Prepare updated weekly announcement slides. Supervise support personnel (i.e. volunteers) Coordinate with church volunteers to compile the Wednesday night prayer list.

Requirements:
High School diploma or GED Equivalency; college or post high school coursework, including clerical/computer training preferred. Minimum of two (2) years' secretarial experience, Executive secretarial experience a plus. Commitment to fulfilling the mission of the church. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Attention to detail. Organizational, prioritization and multitasking abilities Customer service skills; ability to work well with congregants, visitors, other staff and volunteers in a clear professional manner.
