Job Description

Job Summary South Orlando Baptist Church is seeking a Student Pastor who will lead and disciple middle and high school students through biblical teaching, relational ministry, and intentional outreach. This part‑time role (6-15 hours per week) offers a flexible weekly schedule and is ideal for someone passionate about investing in the next generation while working collaboratively within a local church team. Responsibilities Lead weekly student ministry gatherings including teaching, worship coordination, small groups, and fellowship Develop discipleship pathways that help students grow in biblical knowledge, spiritual maturity, and Christlike character Build relationships with students through presence, mentoring, and consistent engagement Plan events and outreach with other adult leaders such as retreats, service projects, mission opportunities, and social gatherings Communicate with parents to support spiritual development and keep families informed Collaborate with pastoral staff to align student ministry with the church's mission and vision Maintain safe, organized, and welcoming environments for all student activities Uphold and model biblical integrity, humility, and servant leadership Qualifications A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to a lifestyle that reflects biblical values Experience working with students in a church or ministry setting preferred Strong communication, teaching, and relational skills Solid understanding of the Bible, core doctrines, and basic apologetics. Ability to plan, organize, and lead ministry activities with excellence Agreement with the doctrinal beliefs and mission of South Orlando Baptist Church Ability to work a flexible schedule within the 6-16 hour weekly range Details Part‑time: 6-16 hours per week Flexible schedule: Hours may be arranged around weekly ministry needs and availability Reports to:
Senior Pastor Compensation:
Based on experience and qualifications Work environment: Includes weekly gatherings, planning time, occasional events, and Sunday responsibilities as needed This position can grow into a full-time position over time with growth of the ministry.
Pay:
$18.00 - $30.00 per hour
