Job Description:
Work Schedule:
Some weeknights but primarily weekend coverage. Starting Friday at 4 pm. Assesses and addresses spiritual needs to support holistic patient care and healing. Provides compassionate presence and emotional support to patients, families, and staff. Guides individuals through difficult decisions, offering ethical, spiritual, and emotional insight. Responds to emergencies (e.g., code blues), supporting care teams and coordinating with families. Documents care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Organizational Verbal Interpersonal Customer Relations Grammar/Spelling Read/Comprehend written instructions Follow verbal instructions Keyboarding (manual) Computer (visual) Personal commitment to God Personal integrity and an ability to work under stress Ability to effectively relate to and consistently provide professional, meaningful, spiritual care to patients, families and staff from diverse backgrounds with respect and reverence toward individual values and beliefs Ability to demonstrate professional pastoral qualities that earn the respect of nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in the clinical context Displays a high skill level completing tasks and communicating effectively using Microsoft Office Suite and other healthcare system charting and communications applications
Education:
Bachelor's in spiritual care, arts, or equivalent degree from college/university or institution accredited by the applicant's institutional faith body [Required] Technical/Vocational School completion of deacon training and ordination [Required]
Field of Study:
Bachelors Degree in spiritual care, arts, or equivalent degree from college/university or institution accredited by the applicant's institutional faith body Required OR Completion of deacon training and ordination
Required Work Experience:
1+ pastoral ministry [Preferred]
Additional Information:
Candidates are strongly encouraged to reside within 30 minutes of AdventHealth Gordon and 40 minutes of AdventHealth Murray. Role requires on-site rounding at AdventHealth Gordon for a minimum of two hours per shift. Remaining shift responsibilities include on-call coverage supporting both campuses.

Driver's License (DL) [Required] Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) [Preferred]
Pay Range:
