Job Summary The Karis Community Church Worship Director will provide leadership, vision, discipleship, and pastoral care for the worship ministry. The Worship Director will cultivate a Christ-centered culture of worship marked by spiritual maturity, musical excellence, humility, and joy. This role will oversee worship gatherings while working closely with church leadership and media teams to help create meaningful worship environments that exalt Christ and edify the church. Requirements 5+ years of experience leading and developing worship teams A heart for shepherding people spiritually, not just leading music musically A strong commitment to teamwork and building healthy ministry culture over personal recognition Passionate enthusiasm for serving the Lord and leading others into genuine worship A desire to cultivate a culture of excellence, humility, unity, and spiritual growth within the worship ministry Ability to cast vision clearly and lead teams toward long-term ministry goals Strong relational and communication skills with both staff and volunteers Musical proficiency with the ability to train and develop team members musically and spiritually Spirit-led, prayerful, and grounded in biblical worship Proven ability to organize, delegate, and lead volunteers effectively Seminary degree and ordination not required, but theological alignment with the church's mission and values is essential Ministry Responsibilities Vision Casting & Culture Building Cast and implement vision for worship ministry at Karis Community Church Develop a worship culture centered on Christ, Scripture, and congregational participation Foster a ministry environment marked by commitment, spiritual growth, excellence, and joy Communicate ministry direction and changes clearly and graciously Help establish expectations and accountability for worship team members Team Development & Recruiting Recruit, onboard, and disciple worship and production team members Invest personally in the spiritual and musical development of team members Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship for worship leaders and musicians Encourage growth in both musical skill and worship leadership Worship Coordination Collaborate with pastoral staff in planning weekly worship gatherings Lead worship for Sunday services and special church gatherings/events Develop and maintain a rotating library of songs aligned with the church's theology and vision Coordinate effectively with media, production, and sound teams Help establish and maintain healthy communication systems between worship and production ministries Assist with annual worship ministry planning and budgeting Work with sound and media teams to cultivate a cohesive worship experience Weekly Time Commitments Weekly Staff Meeting(s)
